Childcare Lawyer

Joanne McGuinness has over 30 years experience as a childcare lawyer. Joanne acts for parents and other family members in childcare proceedings as well as regularly representing children via their Children’s Guardian. Joanne has been a member of the Law Society Children Panel since 1997.

As well as dealing with cases in the magistrates and County court, Joanne has a wealth of experience in conducting complex High Court matters.

Childcare Lawyer

Alex Herbert has specialised as a childcare lawyer for a number of years. Alex is a member of the Law Society Children Panel and the Advanced Family Panel and is a trustee of Gingerbread, an organisation which provides support and accommodation to families.

Alex represents parents and family members in childcare proceedings and is a regular advocate in the magistrates and County court.

Lynne Barlow is an experienced childcare solicitor representing parents and children in all levels of the Family Court. Lynne is a member of the Law Society Children Panel. Lynne has been with McGuinness Legal since 2017. Prior to qualifying as a solicitor, Lynne worked in the Youth Offending Service for several years, meaning Lynne developed an exceptional ability to work with young people and families in crisis, skills which translate into her everyday work as a childcare solicitor. Lynne is known for her ability to connect with her clients and leaving no stone unturned in seeking the best outcome on their behalf.

PARALEGAL

Lynsey Chapman is a Paralegal with over 20 years' experience of working in childcare law. Lynsey has extensive experience representing parents at the Public Law Outline (PLO) pre proceedings stage. Lynsey supports parents going through proceedings to ensure there is a clear understanding of the process and decisions being made. Lynsey has excellent communication skills and is known for her thorough approach and going more than the extra mile to achieve the best outcome possible.

PARALEGAL

Amy joined McGuinness Legal in 2019 from another well established local practice. Amy is often the first point of contact for clients calling the office. Amy has excellent listening skills and is a great support to clients at a time of crisis.
